The common name for this plant in Italian is “Issopo” which literally translates to Hyssop but is not. It’s actually a plant whose botanical name is Micromeria and that has several species most common of which are Micromeria graeca and microphylla. Micromeria are in the Lamiaceae or Mint family and go by many names including Whitweed, Greek Savory, and Mountain Thyme as it grows in the rocky crevices of the Apennine mountain range. They are endemic to the Mediterranean and Micromeria is used interchangeably with Thymus serpyllum in Italian folk medicine.
Issopo essence expands our awareness of our fullness of being that includes the full range of density that our human systems operate within from lesser to greater density. It releases our limited concept of who we are and opens us to greater alignment with the natural expression of our Self. This is the “Self” that is more than our ego, identity, or personality but includes that as well. At the same time, it helps us stay anchored and confident that we are empowered purely because we are part of the alive, aware eternal reality and our intentions, longings, and loves are expressions of such and therefore we naturally have the capacity to receive them.
This essence is a “stock” bottle. A stock bottle is a dilution of the original “mother” essence made by taking 7 drops of the mother and putting it into a 60:40 ratio of spring water to alcohol and potentizing it by shaking. This stock bottle can be further diluted into a dosage bottle by taking 3 drops of the stock essence and putting it into 1/2 ounce of spring water.
