Fig trees grow in great abundance all over Southern Italy and many Italian immigrants have been known to grow fig trees in pots in the cold regions of the United States. What we think of as a “fig” or a fig tree fruit is in fact an inverted flower. The flowers of figs blossom on the inside and they require a specialized insect, the fig wasp, for pollination and reproduction. A pregnant fig wasp enters the fig in a small opening in the fig called the  ostiole and lays her eggs inside. The larvae hatch and grow inside as well until the female wasps reach maturity, become fertilized by the males, and leave the fig with its pollen to find a new fig to lay eggs in. This process is called “mutualism” because both the fig and the wasp need each for reproduction and, essentially, survival.

Use fig flower essence to get to the core of an issue, a feeling, or a relationship. As the fig wasp enters the cave of fig she finds a garden of flowers inside. When we dive into our own shadow, unconscious, or repressed places fig essence helps us to see the creative, blossoming potential that lives in our depths just waiting to be revealed. It can help us remember who we are, connect us to our ancestral as well as personal past and interpret the meaning of forgotten experiences in a way that heals and makes us aware of the gifts of even difficult circumstances.

Fig flower essence can aid us when we are working to breakthrough old negative patterns, change habits that no longer serve us, and let go of relationships that are either destructive or just no longer aligned with our path by allowing us to see the beauty we have within, to tap its source, and to know the direction our creative energy wants to go in.

Dose: Take when doing ancestral reclamation, past-life regression, or just as an ally on your personal journey by taking 1-3 drops under your tongue or in water 3-5 times per day but at least 2x per day for one full moon cycle.

This essence is a “stock” bottle. A stock bottle is a dilution of the original “mother” essence made by taking 7 drops of the mother and putting it into a 60:40 ratio of spring water to alcohol and potentizing it by shaking. This stock bottle can be further diluted into a dosage bottle by taking 3 drops of the stock essence and putting it into 1/2 ounce of spring water.

Ingredients: Spring water, Oleander flowers, Strega Liquore (made in the Italian city of Benevento from 70 different herbs including Ceylon cinnamon, Florentine iris, Italian Apennine juniper, Samnite mint, Saffron and Fennel).
