Iris is a plant of the Blessed Mother as its sword shaped leaves have been associated with the Virgin Mary in her phase as “Our Lady of Sorrows.”
Blue Flag Iris puts us in contact with the root of our creative impulse as it is birthed and constantly birthing from the primordial cosmos that lives within the musky bogs of the Earth. This is a powerful force that can be overwhelming if we have conditioned patterns and karmas that block its free flow and expression. It can bubble up as anxiety or depression as well as mania and ADHD. Blue Flag Essence supports our ability to release limiting patterns by turning away from them and turning toward creative expression.
Blue Flag Iris grows in the swamps and bogs of the northeastern United States and blooms in late Spring. Getting close to an Iris flower is no small task and requires the courage to step out onto the unsolid marshy ground of the wetlands. Iris flowers grow up from this rich, fertile liminal space between Earth and Water, between the physical world of rock and soil and the fluid realms of Neptune and Pisces. Blue Flag essence puts us in touch with both the sea and the Underworld where, when combined, life is birthed. To come into alignment with this energy requires a combination of surrender, consistent intention, and perseverance.
Part of this surrender is letting go of internal patterns that both limit and deplete our nervous system capacity for channeling creative energy. Many of these patterns for those incarnated during our times come from cultural overemphasis on the qualities of the Sun, the Sun gods, the patriarchy, and cerebral or mental overload. All things above the neck. Iris essence helps us to draw up source from our roots and flower while being held by the softness of the muddy swamps.
Dosage: This is a stock bottle so can be taken directly by the drop; 1-3 drops under the tongue or in water 2-3x per day or as desired. It can also be used to make a dosage bottle if that is a practice you're familiar with.
This essence is a “stock” bottle. A stock bottle is a dilution of the original “mother” essence made by taking 7 drops of the mother and putting it into a 60:40 ratio of spring water to alcohol and potentizing it by shaking. This stock bottle can be further diluted into a dosage bottle by taking 3 drops of the stock essence and putting it into 1/2 ounce of spring water.
