Bloodroot flower essence aids us in connecting to our blood roots and the wisdom of our ancestors that wants to come to the surface our lives and psyche. It provides us a safe container, as its leaves wrap the stem while the flower blooms, to find and experience the truth of the mysteries of our blood and genetic history.
Bloodroot is a Spring ephemeral and a native North American woodland plant. Bloodroot is endangered and therefore the flower essence is one of the ways we can work with this plant and receive its offerings without causing harm to its delicate forest floor network and community.
Bloodroot flower essence links us to our ancestral memories, cultural lineage, and place-based spiritual matrix. Our ancestors lived in localized regions, often for generations that descended back 1000 years or more. These regional cultures and peoples were deeply connected to the land they lived on and the ecological characteristics were expressed in them. This connection between place, people, and the entire field of life within was rooted in the multi-dimensional resonance of the 3 dimensional world with the “otherworlds.” The infrastructure that emerged in the cultural, social, and spiritual practices of our ancestors was a response and reflection, as well as an emergent interaction with the otherworld and its energetic qualities that are bonded to time and space. This world and the otherworlds are inextricably bound and what is expressed in one must always find a way to express in the other; as within, as without. These expressions were what we might call our ancestral “traditions” and these traditions were facilitating important and necessary threads of life, like our veins and capillaries weave through our tissues, bringing essential nutrients and oxygen to our cells.
As traditional cultures have been homogenized and assimilated into modern life, and so many of us have lost contact with our own, these deep Earth. and otherworld wisdoms and formulas of creation have been lost as well. But they still survive in our genetic memories and bone marrow as well as in the spirits of our ancestors who long for us to speak and learn from them.
Bloodroot flower essence brings us into contact with our ancestors and the wisdom that our ancestral communities were actualizing in the places where they lived. It’s about both place and past as well as the presence of both in our own bodies and souls in this moment.

Dosage: This is a stock bottle so can be taken directly by the drop; 1-3 drops under the tongue or in water 2-3x per day or as desired. It can also be used to make a dosage bottle if that is a practice you're familiar with.
This essence is a “stock” bottle. A stock bottle is a dilution of the original “mother” essence made by taking 7 drops of the mother and putting it into a 60:40 ratio of spring water to alcohol and potentizing it by shaking. This stock bottle can be further diluted into a dosage bottle by taking 3 drops of the stock essence and putting it into 1/2 ounce of spring water.
