Bone Mending

Finding lost bones

Empty of marrow

This is underground remembering

I wonder if my great-grandmother's femur

Was the same length as mine?

I want to make a necklace from her teeth.

I want my ancestor's bones

So I can line them up 

And stack them like towers

Vertebrae after vertebrae

And with the blood thread of my life

Mend them back together.
